There are things that you need to do to ensure that you emerge the best contender in a contention. If you are a dancer planning for Michigan Dance Competitions, here are the hacks that you could use to get you to the top. Though there are a lot more than you might need, the ones on this list will get you really prepared to win.

The mental preparation, though overlooked by many, is an important part of the preparation process. You must ensure that your mind is free and that you are only focused on the forthcoming contention. If there is anything that is disrupting your focus, you can talk to someone about it so that you are left free. Try to replace the toxins with the motivation that will help you achieve the best in your contention.

Motivation is key as far as being a subtle dancer is concerned. Motivation is almost as crucial as the dance moves that you are looking to display in the stage. If you focus too much on the routine and forget that you need to be motivated to perform well, you might end up knowing everything in mind but not being able to do them because you are nervous. You need to know that you are going there to have fun, and that is very key.

Make sure that you start your preparations well when there is still time. Even if you are one of the best dancers the world has ever known, getting prepared well is great to outdo the competitors. Make sure that you get the right attire for your competition. The last-minute worries that might just ruin your performance are some of the things that you need to get rid of.

There are makeup professionals that will give you that hero/heroine look that you deserve for the competition. If you are someone that does his/her makeup alone, this time try to look for the experts to perform the miracle on your behalf. Your hairstyle and the dress that you are wearing during the contention should speak volumes about you.

If you will need ballroom shoes for the contentions, try to get them when you still have time to practice and get used to them. The same applies to the dress and many other wears that you will need on the day of contention. Having them in time helps you get used to them so you can still perform well in stage with them on.

What you eat a few days before the contention are all important. Make sure that you don't gain weight until you are unable to perform certain dance moves. If you are willing to stay in shape, then you can go to the gym. A nutritionist can also help you get the right diet if you are struggling to get one.

Stretch and warm up before going to the stage. This will make you feel light and cheered up when you are doing the dances on stage. If you are performing as a crew, advice your colleagues to do the same so you don't have problems moving parts of your body during the contention.
