Reveal The Appropriate Rules For Putting On Custom Racing Shirts

By Thomas Edwards

Whenever running events like marathons and the like occur, it often involves a ton of preparation weeks or months before it occurs. As a part of the entire preparation process, it includes adhering to the appropriate outfit to wear during the entire gathering. While majority of men and women put on their athletic wear, people that frequent the running community often wear certain articles of clothing from previous races and for promotional reasons. For instance, wearing a certain shirt that bears a logo means this person supports a specific movement or was sponsored by a local business to compete.

However, not many people are aware of its implications and the general etiquette that should be in place when it comes to what outfit is appropriate or not. To remedy this, a list of protocols and guidelines have been compiled in this article for the reference of people that plan on participating on a local race event in their area or for those who have been on a hiatus from the community for a while now. For more information on this subject, the following paragraphs will emphasize on the proper etiquette for wearing custom racing shirts.

The most well known and highly unspoken rule within the racing community would be to never wear a shirt or other articles of clothing, unless you actually participated in it beforehand. Although exceptions to this rule exists, such as the volunteers that helped in organizing it and ensuring its success. Otherwise, do not do so unless you plan on being ridiculed or pointed out as a neophyte.

Any kind of garments that was obtained or taken from a match that did not get to the fastest allowed range for a marathon need not be put on when the celebration arranged is that of an extremely marathon. When putting on those from sprints to occasions like the Ironman difficulty, the exact same specific guideline uses. It does not specifically make a declaration and also presents even more of a newbie degree, unless that is something that the user is going for. Or else, it would be best to stay with common sports brand names and logo designs rather.

Upon returning to the same competition that has already been completed by the runner in the previous years, consider wearing the first one ever won instead of wearing one from the previous years. This shows a certain level of professionalism and dedication to their craft, including showing a strong sense of being a veteran in competition sports that involve running. It adds to the status of a person and shows the level of accomplishment they have accumulated over the past few years too.

Another beginner mistake that most men and women commit without knowing is wearing a shirt that was given out on the actual competition itself. Ideally, wear the aforementioned shirts and not the one provided. While this has no other reasonable excuse apart from the fact that many people believe it will bring bad luck, you would not want to sabotage your performance anyways right.

Ideally, wearing clothes from a past competition shows that an individual was able to win or at least finished it beforehand. Following this logic, wearing one wherein the participant gave up after a few kilometers or chickened out from joining sort of defeats the entire purpose of donning it in the first place. These people are classified under DNF, which means did not finish and is not something to be proud of.

While a common practice that people usually do is purchasing extra pairs and giving it to friends or family that participated. Although widely done, it is frowned upon as these were especially printed for the runners. As a matter of fact, this may sometimes lead to an insufficient stock left for other runners that trained and worked hard to compete.

Overall, discussed above are the proper guidelines for donning these clothes. Keeping these in mind helps adhere to it. As a result, you will become more accepted within the community.
