The type of accessory that is created will dictate what materials will be used. The person making the piece will have their own personal preferences when creating. Stones such as amethyst, quartz, coral, turquoise, and amber are used to created beautiful necklaces, rings, bracelets, pendants, and earrings. Designers will also use jasper, opal, and pearl to make items.

The accessories are made with different materials. All materials have some meaning behind them. Not everyone who buys this kind of jewelry gives thought to what the stones mean. On the other hand, there are many folks who look for specific items based solely on the meaning behind the materials. The significance of the stone might not be true and may only be opinion. Of all the stones, the three most popular are amethyst, turquoise, and amber.

Turquoise got its name because it was carried across Turkey. These beautifully colored stones are the number one preferred stone. Today, the bulk of them come out of the US and Mexico. Accessories made from the stone are believed to possess the power to protect those who wear them and are largely purchased in a Native Indian shop.

It is believed that turquoise keeps folks safe from physical injury and emotional harm. The stone is thought to be very powerful by itself. However, many people think that when combined with copper the power of the stone increases. This beautiful stone is used to make many Native Indian accessories.

Although amber is not scientifically considered a stone, it is used to make quite a lot of jewelry. By definition amber is not a gemstone but is given that classification by many people. There are a variety of uses for the material and it has gathered many different meanings. Amber is believe to have cured many illnesses including kidney problems, headache, and heart troubles. In the Middle East it is believed that amber is symbolic of courage.

Amethyst is a beautiful color. If you have a piece that is purple it most probably is made with amethyst. At one time, amethyst was considered to be quite valuable. However, the stones have lost value over time. Additionally, a sizable supply of the stones was found in Brazil which makes the pieces easily affordable for most people.

The belief that is attached to amethyst is that it prevents people from getting too inebriated. The thought was that anyone who drank from cup made from amethyst would not become drunk. In addition, there is a belief that the stone offers spiritual insight and promotes good behaviors. Also, many believe tat if a person wears the stone they will be increasingly honest and they will have their mind will be quiet and peaceful.
