It's imperative you master the basics of marketing- like any real business

I've been groomed by 6 and 7-figure income earners who taught me the following strategies we quietly use to build large businesses:

- Get Trained How To Market

Like any established business, you must market to generate sales. Network marketers in companies such as Forever Living are taught a lot about how to network, but almost nothing about how to market.

Purchasing leads and business cards, and setting up your company-provided replicated website seems like marketing. These are just marketing tools, and some are not very effective. There are a few parts to a marketing strategy:

Identify Your Target Market: Who is your target market for your Forever Living opportunity? People who own businesses? Broke people who need to make money? Focus on frustrated network marketers who seek solutions to their business problems. Network marketers won't waste your time with stupid questions about whether this is a scam, a pyramid, etc. People in network marketing have signaled they are willing to put a monthly product purchase onto their credit card.

Position Yourself Strategically: Thousands of people are promoting Forever Living. What unique value do you provide? Clarify your unique selling proposition. (U.S.P.)

Promote: Once you run out of friends and family to prospect into your Forever Living business, how will you generate leads? Get trained in solid online marketing tactics that will generate leads for your business.

Follow-Up: Once you generate a lead, how will you follow up? Be sure to use both live phone calls as well as automated email to follow up with leads.

- Marketing Is More Critical Than Duplication

Check out these facts:

- Only about 1 in 5 people in your Forever Living downline will sponsor anyone else.

- Of those that do sponsor people, most will only sponsor 2-3 people total.

- The remaining 80% of your Forever Living downline won't ever do a darn thing.

The keep-everything-duplicable strategy that network marketers in Forever Living are taught (like some ancient gospel) actually only causes 20% of the people to sponsor anyone...and they tend to sponsor a tiny number of people!

The strategy to keep-it-simple sounds great but in practice does NOT invoke high levels of duplication and creates problems very few people ever recognize. The most common way to keep it simple is to use warm market recruiting, which is to approach family and friends and present the Forever Living business opportunity to them.For decades network marketers have been teaching this strategy not because it's the best but because its the most simple...but simple does not mean effective!

This strategy can actually lead to people quitting Forever Living. Once people run out of others to talk to within the first 30-90 days, they will often quit Forever Living because they have NO CLUE how to perform the one activity they must rely on to build a business: advertising and marketing to generate consistent lead flow. The second problem this friends and family approach creates is it repels high caliber prospects. Ideal prospects for a Forever Living business, people with transferable skills and large personal and professional networks such as real estate professionals, professional salespeople, and other business people tend NOT to want to approach family and friends about their opportunity. Many professionals want to protect their reputation and do NOT want to introduce their friends and colleagues to an opportunity that they just got started with such as Forever Living.

So should you begin by approaching friends and family about your Forever Living business? Sure. But unless you learn at least one rock solid marketing and advertising approach, you will run out of people to talk to. Your best prospects are likely going to want to market their business professionally, not pester friends at cocktail parties. Learn how to market your business on the Internet, and you can attract extremely high caliber Forever Living prospects who want to learn the same. If just a handful of people also learn to market Forever Living online, you could experience massive growth in your Forever Living business, without relying heavily on the friends and family approach.""

- Connect With Like-Minded People

Building a Forever Living business is unlike having a job. Rather than depending hopelessly on a job to make you rich, you're building a long term enterprise.

After a while, almost no one is going to understand what the heck you're doing. And then you'll start hearing all sorts of ridiculous comments:

- Why don't you focus on a job like everyone else?

- When are you going to make money?

- I tried one of those things before. They never work!

These cynical comments come from ignorance. You must protect your mind from being influenced by these naysayers. Make sure you drastically limit the amount of time you spend around people who don't understand what you're doing. You'll gain friendships and have more fun.

Go and connect with other networkers. Attend regional and national training events for Forever Living reps. Seek out and meet some of the top earners in your Forever Living opportunity or other companies. They are often energetic, support people.

Reach out to other networker through Facebook. Never lead with your Forever Living venture. Keep it real, and just have conversations. Take the average income of the 5 or 6 people you hang out with the most. That's what your income will look like. Select the people you associate with very carefully.
