Discovering A New American Novelist

By Tanisha Berg

When it comes to authors, there are as many different stories as there are of the people who created them. These stories can often be written in a variety of styles. When it comes to the new American Novelist, there is often a great deal of truth blended within the fictional aspects of the story line.

Different writers vary when it comes to writing, editing and story telling styles. Some write in third person, others in first. There are also those who can create dynamic interactions between characters and those who simply use narration. Either way, it is important that these writers keep writing and that books keep selling.

With new and emerging talent like that found in one edition of Ganta several years ago, there is no doubt this will be the case. The problem lies within all books becoming e-books which could then result in the closures of bookstores and libraries. As not all individuals are computer savvy, nor would all want to be, this can pose a problem for a number of individuals who love to read a good old fashion novel the old fashioned way.

As fiction is often based, to some extent, on truth, these young authors all seem to incorporate this element into writing styles. Generally, all seem to incorporate the issues which both bother and inspire creative minds. Others, tend to write about more positive experiences within the realm of what some consider fictional truth, or truthful fiction.

Writers also need to have a wide vocabulary. An active imagination is key in writing, whether based in fact or fiction. As always, it is important that names be changed to protect the innocent when it comes to any actual activities associated with reality unless the writer is working on a biography, or auto-biography. Lastly, it's imperative the story be written in a way in which readers can follow and understand the plot, themes and synopsis of the storyline.

If people one uses for characters in a story are not disguised properly, individuals can often take notice with some of the writings. It is often hard for individuals reading real stories about oneself, even in a fictional novel not to get upset. To avoid this, it is always good to incorporate both positive and negative behaviors in all characters.

New authors may want to look into publishing a book in hard, soft, and e-book versions. A number of online book publishers now offer this service. While it is often up to the writer to determine this cost, it is often good to keep it as low and as close to the original cost as possible.

The three best ways to get published are send in a query letter and outline to a publisher, self-publish the book or send to an internet publishing company which can provide hard, soft and e-books for a nominal fee. Once the writer has purchased these then each type can be sold at a slight mark up to cover the cost of publication and get the writer's name on the market.
