He is an artist who grew up in Michigan at Birmingham . His passion and talent for painting was seen while he was still young. Immediately he had completed almost 30 canvases, his painting was exhibited at a city hall in Michigan by then he was in his seventh grade. But like usual children can be cruel, Alexander Koleszar was taunted because of his creativity which made him begin to mask his talent in painting. He hoped that it would help him avoid more negative attention.
Twenty years later an AIDS pandemic swept over his land. It was painful to witness friends and family die. He had to turn to something to forget the disheartening moment or even look for a way to let the sadness go. It was in this difficult period that he decided to get grounded in art once again. He concentrated in his work and art turned to be an effective recovery mechanism.
This time after returning to art work he changed the manner in which he did his work. His paintings now reflected on more real issues in the society such as the AIDS pandemic which had claimed the lives of many in the society. One of his paintings pleased so many people and was taken to a sales gallery. This painting was named returning home. It was among the two best paintings in that year.
Although Alex seemed to flourish in his work, he shifted to doing classical paintings and drawing. He needed to set more time in order to gain experience in this new field. To achieve this he enrolled for classical painting classes and put aside his past art work to give more time to his new career.
He concentrated in his work and wanted to build himself before he can start participating in exhibitions. In 1996 Alex was invited in county Museum to show his works. During the exhibition period he become more popular for his talent such that people tagged him the new emerging artist. With time he was invited for an exhibition in a Biennale.
Since the Biennale, people across US and parts of Europe began buying his works. His paintings are not only a fusion of surrealism but also realism. They are outstanding and reflect his admiration of works done Magritte and Dali.
The works of Koleszar demonstrated that he was not timid of dealing with critical issues. In most paintings he responded to critical issues such as Enron scandal and wars during Bush Administration. He has created various arts in response to suspected motives for war. Some of the works address key issues of recovery and addiction in West Hollywood community. In general he ensured his work pointed out vital issues in the society.
Koleszar is a celebrated renaissance man. In addition to art he did natural sciences and enjoyed politics. His thoughts, knowledge and ideas were reflected in art. It was during this time that another tragedy hit him. One of his close friends who he had worked with in this field for 26 years passed away. It was very painful that he migrated to Palms Springs. There he started a new life away from past distractions.
